Phoenix family mourns sudden loss of construction worker killed at job site [Video]

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The family of a Phoenix construction worker killed on the job is overcome with grief.

Jesus Ramirez died after firefighters say he was trapped when multiple windows fell from a forklift at a home he was helping build.

His family is still in shock and just can’t believe he’s gone.

Most of their relatives live in Mexico, but Jesus came to Arizona when he was young to work and build a better life for his family.

Brenda Ramirez is mourning the sudden loss of her dad.

“For me he wasn’t my dad, like he was my papi and he was my daddy,” she said through tears.

The 56-year-old died at a construction site near McDonald Drive and Scottsdale Road Monday afternoon.

“It wasn’t just like a natural cause. It was just out of nowhere,” said Brenda.

Paradise Valley police are investigating but say there are no signs of foul play, and this appears to be an accident.
