Penn State men’s hockey, alongside five other Big Ten teams, will get the outdoor treatment this coming season in a unique location.
The Nittany Lions will face Notre Dame at Wrigley Field in Chicago, home of the Chicago Cubs, on Jan. 3. Big Ten Commissioner Tony Petitti announced “The Frozen Confines” series in Chicago on Thursday, alongside Cubs President of Business Operations Crane Kenney and Chicago Blackhawks President of Business Operations Jaime Faulkner.
The game, which will begin at either 5 p.m. or 8:30 p.m., will air on Big Ten Network. Ohio State and Michigan will also play on Jan. 3, while Wisconsin and Michigan State will play on Jan. 4. The Ohio State and Wisconsin women’s hockey teams will also play on Jan. 4.
This will be the first outdoor game in Penn State men’s hockey history.
