Parents accused of endangering children at west Toledo apartment [Video]

TOLEDO, Ohio — Two parents are accused of keeping their four children in “atrocious and inhumane living conditions” at a west Toledo apartment, according to court documents.

Jason Baran, 42, and Maryann Baran, 40, are both charged with endangering children. Jason, who is also charged with obstructing official business and failing to disclose information, was arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court Tuesday morning. Police responded to the home on Saturday.

Maryann, who documents say created “a substantial risk to the health and safety of her children by poor living conditions and no food,” is scheduled to be arraigned on Sept. 10.
