Open for Business: Reno man creates first-of-its-kind car seat for dogs [Video]

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Alex Florea lives in Reno and came up with the idea for the Rubicon Dog car seat when he was traveling with his own dog through the Rubicon trail and struggled trying to keep one hand on the steering wheel and the other on his dog to keep him from jostling too much.

When he looked online for some kind of car seat for dogs to easy this challenge, there was nothing. So he decided to invent one himself by taking the concept a child’s car seat with its straps and hard shell casing and make something that fits a dog’s needs.

The product is manufactured in Minnesota and just started shipping in July. Not only is this a brand new product, it’s also a new product category since its the only of its kind.
