The 2024 fiscal year has been a historic one in terms of growth for the City of Opelika.
The city announced on Monday that the 2024 fiscal year has been the most successful year in the city’s history for construction activity, with a record-breaking total value of $337.5 million. According to the release, the milestone showcases Opelika’s continued growth and development as a location for residential and commercial investments.
“My compliments go to Jeff Kappelman and his staff for facilitating this outstanding year,” Opelika Mayor Gary Fuller said. “The building inspections team, led by Kappelman, played a key role in this success, diligently issuing permits, conducting plan reviews, and completing a remarkable number of onsite inspections throughout the year.”
