COLUMBUS, Ohio – Anthony Veneziano pitched five sharp innings in helping the Omaha Storm Chasers snap a four-game losing streak with a 6-1 win Tuesday night.
The left-handed Veneziano allowed one hit, walked three and struck out four in five shutout innings to earn the win. Kris Bubic, who the Royals want to work out of the bullpen after he’s promoted from his injury rehab, worked 2.1 innings of relief.
Omha’s offense provided all six runs in the first two innings.
Nate Eaton hit a solo home run in the first, then John Rave had a two-run single and Nick Pratto a two-run double in the second.
Omaha, which picked up win No. 50, and Columbus continue their series at 6:05 p.m. Wednesday.
