Ohioans could vote on another statewide minimum wage increase in November [Video]

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – There could be another minimum wage increase for Ohio workers, but only if it gets on the ballot in November.

Raise the Wage Ohio is working to collect over 400,000 valid voter signatures to get their proposal on the ballot for the 2024 General Election. The organization wants to increase the minimum wage across the state, but some businesses are not too keen on the idea.

The Restaurant Trade Association argues that raising the wage for non-tipped workers could drive up the cost of eating out, which could ultimately impact them.

Ohio’s minimum wage went up to $10.45 per hour for non-tipped workers and $5.25 for tipped workers in January.

In response to the increase in inflation, Raise the Wage Ohio wants to raise it even higher, making the minimum wage $12.75 an hour by 2025 and then $15 an hour by 2026. This proposal only applies …
