Now hiring: Crossing guards [Video]

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – Back-to-school is just around the corner, and crossing guards are needed to keep kids in our community safe.

Police departments and city leaders in Green Bay, De Pere, Kaukauna and region-wide are hoping to find reliable, dedicated adults who can make sure our kids get to school and back home safely.

It’s a good idea to check in with your local police or public safety department if it’s something you think you can do.

Green Bay police say it could be a college student, retiree or anyone else who might make the schedule work.

You don’t need experience; you’ll get the training you need.

Shifts are typically one hour in the morning and afternoon.

There are also positions for substitute crossing guards.

The pay varies depending on where you live. In Green Bay, the pay is about $16 an hour.
