NORFOLK, Va. — A Norfolk man was sentenced on Tuesday to 19 years in prison for drug trafficking and firearms charges.
According to a release from the Department of Justice, 44-year-old Eric Joseph McGinnis had been supplying controlled substances to a co-conspirator since November 2022.
Officials searched McGinnis’ home and business both in Norfolk on July 28, 2023.
Law enforcement seized 17 firearms, two of which were personally manufactured, 17 kilograms of methamphetamine, 1.2 kilograms of marijuana, 1.5 kilograms of psilocin, 1.2 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and a half kilogram of fentanyl mixed with other substances, and hundreds of tablets of other controlled substances.
McGinnis was legally barred from possessing firearms or ammunition due to a previous felony conviction.
