Nonprofit asking for pilots to help Hurricane Helene relief efforts [Video]

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – A nonprofit is asking for pilots and planes from across the country to help reach people who need supplies in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.

Operation Airdrop’s Director of Operations Ryan Spellman says it doesn’t matter what kind of plane you have; They can work to accommodate any aircraft.

Flooded roadways in parts of the country impacted by Helene have made it difficult for people to get the resources they need.

“When you lose all your essential services – your water, your power, that place you call home – your comfort is gone and you’re looking up at the bare sky,” Spellman said. “The only thing you have around you is the people to support you.”

Operation Airdrop works to fly supplies through volunteer pilots to help those who need it most after natural disasters.
