SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – It was a surprise announcement from the Sioux Falls Storm on Wednesday. The team said they will pause operations for the 2025 season as they search for a new home.
The Storm was not offered a new lease from the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center for the upcoming season. According to PREMIER Center General Manager Mike Krewson, conversations were ongoing over the last few years, so he said that the team was not blindsided by the event center‘s decision. Ultimately, it just didn’t work out.
The Sioux Falls Storm is a historic franchise in the Indoor Football League. It’s odd that the 11-time champions are the team without a home.
