HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – The Nebraskans for Medical Marijuana organization is pushing for more signatures in the final days of its campaign.
This is their third attempt at a ballot initiative, which includes two petitions: one to create protections for those who work with medical cannabis and the other to require the Legislature to legalize it.
The group still needs 12,000 more signatures, and are setting up at Wine, Beer, and Spirits stores across Nebraska in order to reach more people.
“The five minutes that somebody takes out of their day today on the way home from work, to put their name on something, that is potentially going to save the lives of Nebraskans, could save the life of my child,” said Crista Eggers, campaign manager for Nebraskans for Medical Marijuana. “I’m just begging them to do that. Because, we can just cannot fail at this.”
