National home improvement chain to close 94 stores amid bankruptcy: Heres where [Video]

National home improvement chain LL Flooring announced plans to close almost 100 locations, including six in New England, after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy over the weekend.

The company, formerly known as Lumber Liquidators, hopes to sell its remaining locations and have started going-out-of-business sales at the 94 locations slated to close.

“LL Flooring is generally operating in the normal course through this process and remains focused on providing customers with a broad range of hard and soft surface flooring and an exceptional shopping experience ” the chain said in a statement.

The company will continue to operate more than 300 stores across the country, in addition to offering online sales.

The chain cited inflation, increasing labor costs and a decrease in customer spending as reasons for its filing. The company is currently in negotiation with “multiple bidders ” regarding its future.
