Myrtle Beach K9 group helps recover bodies of North Carolina storm victims [Video]

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Members of a Myrtle Beach nonprofit group recently returned home from the mountains of North Carolina where they helped recover the bodies of those who died during Hurricane Helene.

Joint Task Force K9s joined Heroes For Humanity, another nonprofit, in Yadkin County, North Carolina, just west of Winston-Salem. They had a team of eight dogs and five handlers, all working together for the first time.

Joint Task Force K9 founder Keith Holland said he has never seen anything like what he saw in North Carolina.

“I’ve done multiple natural disasters,” Holland said. “I have worked floods as well, but this was by far the worst I’ve ever seen on the ground. It just takes the country to come together as a whole just to fix this. This is going to be a long …
