“My tumble dryer has packed up and now my towels are like Ryvita crackers.”

Towels can turn rough for several reasons, including using too much detergent or fabric softener which can leave a residue on the laundry item.

As well as this, drying towels on an airer or outside can prevent them from going soft, which is why a number of people opt to use their tumble dryers.

Luckily, there are many ways to keep towels nice and soft without using the expensive appliance.
