MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — The owner of a Mount Vernon plumbing business is making sure those impacted by Hurricane Helene are getting the help they need.
Bo McKenzie is the owner of “Full Speed Plumbing” based out of Mount Vernon. He traveled more than 2,800 miles to help people affected by Hurricane Helene.
He left his home in Oak Harbor Tuesday, to make the 40-plus hour trek to North Carolina. He traveled down with a camper filled with essential supplies, a Starlink and his Jeep hitched on the back.
“Burden on my heart that came in,” McKenzie said. “I knew I needed to serve these communities.”
Communities that have been severely impacted by a deadly hurricane season.
“It’s surreal,” McKenzie said. “It’s immense. It’s unfathomable. It’s just kind of everywhere,” said McKenzie.
