We were doing all this when interest rates were low and many people thought we were making a stupid decision to pay off a low interest rate mortgage.

We’d started with a 25 year mortgage, then reduced the term to 20 years, then 15 years, then 10 years, then 7 years via the tips above.

Remember: Achieving Financial goals require a tradeoff and takes time. Be patient. If you have to give stuff up to become mortgage free over time, it won’t be forever. Plus, the current economic climate won’t remain like this forever.

Half the battle is a mindset journey and believing that YOU can do it is half the battle won 💪🏾. Don’t let anyone talk you out of it if this is a long term goal that you have.

P.s. We did NOT inherit any money. We wish 😆. For those curious, we paid off around £380k – £390K overall including interest in 7 years. It wasn’t easy at all as we threw everything at it but it’s definitely possible with a plan if you focus. The less you borrow, the easier it is overall.
