MONTEVALLO, Ala. (WBRC) – The city of Montevallo is making changes to their business license ordinance.
The city said this ordinance places additional restrictions on certain types of businesses within a certain area of the city.
Businesses like pawn shops, CBD stores, tattoo parlors and payday loans will now have to follow a new application process to get a business license in the city’s downtown area.
City leaders want to stress these changes are not meant to prohibit future businesses of these types from operating here in the city.
These changes allow for further review to make sure that when someone does locate their business within this area of the city, there are certain requirements they have to meet.
This is not a city-wide ordinance, it’s just for their downtown area only. City leaders say this is just a new addition to their application process.
