Moment police rescue McDonald’s slaves from London home: Victims of family-run trafficking gang are found ‘shivering in beds’ – as photo shows ringleader enjoying beach holiday [Video]

Newly released footage shows the moment police save McDonald’s slaves from their cramped London home where they were left shivering in their beds by a family-run human trafficking racket.

The scenes came as it was revealed a gang went undetected for years when forcing 16 victims to work at a McDonald’s branch as well as a factory supplying major supermarkets.

And new pictures have emerged showing one of the ringleaders enjoying a beach holiday abroad – before justice finally caught up with him and his accomplices.

Ernest Drevenak and Veronika Bubencikova, both 46, were found to have started exploiting men from the Czech Republic in 2015 – but were only captured in 2019. Drevenak is said to have run the gang alongside his brother Zdenek.

Their victims – who were homeless, unemployed or in very low-paid jobs in the Czech Republic – had been brought to the UK with the promise of a better life.
