Missoula residents see influx of scammers offering overpriced services after recent windstorms [Video]

MISSOULA, Mont. – Residents in the Missoula area are dealing with the aftermath of multiple windstorms that have caused significant damage over the last month. Alongside home repairs and removal services, locals need to watch out for potential scammers.

Malcolm Miller, Superintendent of Treasure State Tree Service in Missoula, has been busy handling the fallout from these storms. According to Miller, scam artists often flood into towns after such events, attempting to overcharge or solicit homeowners for unnecessary work.

“I’ve seen companies… This storm. I’ve seen companies as far away as Iowa in Missoula, door knocking people and people have to be really careful because… Maybe whoever they’re dealing with or speaking to is licensed and ensured in their home state or home locality…. They’re not necessarily licensed and insured to work in Montana,” said Miller.
