An 11-year-old boy jumped two stories from his burning home to get help. The fire happened at 35th Street and Courtland Avenue near Hampton Avenue on Milwaukee’s north side. The family is recovering now.It was the middle of the night. A mom and her four sons were sound asleep. “I start smelling fire and smelling the fire. Something said, ‘Get up and go look down the stairs,'” Acasha Jackson said. “I look down the stairs. I see a, like the reflection of the fire on the back door in the back wall, and I see thick smoke coming up the stairs, and I ran to my boys.”Jackson said the smoke was thick. One son acted quickly.
