MFD investigators said the causes of the fires ranged from arson to people trying to stay warm.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Fire Department had a busy night after a spate of fires overnight. MFD said no one was seriously injured in any of the fires.
Firefighters first battled a fire in the 2300 block of Staten on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025. They said the fire started inside the home and was an accidental warming fire. It caused about $10,000 damage.
Fire crews were also called to the 100 block of N. Hollywood on Jan. 21, where they found a fire in a detached garage. Investigators said the fire was arson and caused about $25,000 damage.
About 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, fire fighters battled a house fire in the 1300 block of Aste. Investigators have not yet said what caused the fire. Assistance for the family was provided by the Red Cross.
