MC2 Accountants appoints new managing partner [Video]

MC2 Accountants, the Cork mid-market advisory firm, has appointed James Loughrey as its new managing partner. Loughrey has been with the firm for three years and takes over from Jim McCarthy, co-founder of MC2.

Loughrey, partner in MC2’s Audit and Business Advisory department, previously worked with EY and Parfrey Murphy, which MC2 acquired two years ago.

MC2 has also appointed James McMahon to the position of tax partner. McMahon was previously tax director at Grant Thornton, and joins Seán McSweeney in the firm’s tax unit.

MC2 recently expanded its office on Penrose Quay to accommodate newly recruited employees to meet the demand of continued growth in business, with plans to hire an additional 20 staff in the next 18 months.
