Man Allegedly Tried to Mow Down Partner with Car, But Killed Another Woman: Police [Video]

A Houston woman was fatally struck by a car outside the parking lot of a nightclub in the early morning hours of Sunday, Aug. 18.

Witnesses at the scene at 2300 San Jacinto St. alleged to police that a driver, later identified as Sanden James George in a statement by the Houston Police Department, had gotten into a “physical altercation” with another woman and appeared to attempt to “intentionally strike” her with the vehicle, a spokesperson for the HPD told PEOPLE.

Instead, George, 35, allegedly struck and killed an innocent bystander, say police.

The HPD said in the statement that George has been charged with murder and assault on a family member.

Police initially responded to the scene at 3 a.m. after a reported auto-pedestrian crash at an intersection near the nightclub address.
