Louisville organizations partner to provide meals, toys and coats for local families | News from WDRB [Video]

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — People in need received some support in time for the holidays on Sunday.

RK Bluegrass, a local catering company, held its second annual holiday giveback at their building on West Main Street. Children received stockings stuffed with items.

The company also provided meals for 200 families. Each meal taken home feeds eight to 10 people.

Gloves, coats and toys were also given away at the event in the Portland neighborhood.

“Our staff is really passionate,” said Amie Milby, RK Bluegrass general manager. “We all like to get involved and it is something our whole team can do like a family and they enjoy it. We can all get behind it and we also allow them to come in and get a hot meal.”

The event was also a partnership with Habitat for Humanity, the Neighborhood House, the Delta Foundation and Russell: A Place of Promise.
