Little Rock Housing Repair Program celebrates 50 years of service but needs funding to continue [Video]

LITTLE ROCK, ARK.- The government of Little Rock dedicates nearly $1 million every year to rehabilitate older homes for people with disabilities and others in need. Many of these homes need emergency repairs, while others need roofing, electrical, or plumbing repairs.

This year the program celebrates 50 years of working to repair the homes of families in Little Rock who are unable to do so themselves; however, with the new budget proposal from the Biden Administration, these funds could be at risk.

This program is funded through the federal government’s Community Block Grant Development (CDBG) program and President Biden is cutting funding for the CDBG program by $400 million.
