WENATCHEE, Wash. — Level 3 evacuation orders are in place for a 25-acre fire that is quickly growing and is threatening houses.
According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the Squilchuck Fire started around 2:17 p.m. on Sunday and caused Level 3 evacuations to quickly go into effect as it quickly consumed sage, brush and timber, threatening homes and businesses in the area. WSP does not know the cause of this fire.
Multiple crews from the Fire Protection Bureau including a strike team, two dozers and air resources are assisting the State Fire Marshal’s Office personnel. There is no estimated time on when residents will be able to return home.
Updated at 3:50 p.m.- Level 3 “Go Now!” evacuations have been ordered for those living on Squilchuck Road.
