Law enforcement responds to reported shooting near Paullina, Iowa [Video]

PAULLINA, Iowa (KTIV) – A large law enforcement presence was seen near the town of Paullina, Iowa Thursday Morning.

Shortly before 10 am, the O’Brien County communications center received a call from an individual claiming to have shot another person and said they would commit further acts of violence against other individuals and law enforcement.

Law enforcement responded to the 4500 block of Red Wood Ave., northeast of Paullina. Precautions were made for nearby homes and businesses; Mill Creek campground was evacuated.

A resident in the area told KTIV that residents were warned by the O’Brien County Sheriff that there was an active situation in the area. Those same residents say they received a follow-up call that the area was clear.
