Lander reinvests one-half cent tax back into local businesses [Video]

LANDER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) – Local businesses are the lifeblood of communities like Lander, Wyoming, and the Lander Investment For Tomorrow (LIFT) works to invest in them.

The LIFT program uses Fremont County’s one-half cent sales tax to invest in local businesses and organizations by providing grants and funding programs.

Lonnie Bull is a member of the LIFT committee. He explains, “It’s a great way to build the economics of our town and build a business community within our town. We’re taking this half-cent tax, we’re supporting these local businesses who can hopefully make life better for us in these small towns. Maybe it’s through their business, or the appearance of buildings or upgrading buildings… It takes several different avenues, but it all stays in the town.”

Fabian Lobera and his wife, Krista purchased the Lander Motelin 2020, and have used their LIFT funding to remodel the property. The Lobera’s worked with local contractors to complete the project, keeping that grant money within Lander …
