BAYLOR COUNTY, Texas (KAUZ) – Residents in Baylor County have a big decision to make this upcoming election, whether to reelect their current sheriff or appoint a new one.
We spoke with Robert Castilleja about his plans if he is elected.
Baylor County Sheriff Candidate Robert Castilleja has spent the past 14 years calling the county home.
He’s been in law enforcement for the past 6 years and credits working at the Baylor County Attorney’s Office where he is now. Castilleja graduated from Vernon College’s Police Academy in 2019 and was Chief Deputy in Knox County.
If elected Castilleja wants to help officers be better equipped to handle mental health crises, citing that officers need the opportunity for more extensive training to handle mental health issues.
