A former University of Missouri men’s basketball standout and journeyman NBA player, Jontay Porter pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud in federal court on Wednesday.His case is tied to a sports betting scandal that ended with Porter being banned from the league earlier this year.The former Toronto Raptors center entered the plea at his arraignment in a New York.The case is tied to what they call a “gambling scheme.” four suspects are charged with placing big bets that an NBA player would underperform in games.Porter’s lawyer hasn’t released a public comment on behalf of the former Mizzou player since court paperwork was filed last week.
