Johnson reflects on more than year-long stretch of constant flooding [Video]

Since the July 2023 floods, communities like Johnson, can’t seem to catch a break from constant flooding hitting our region.On Wednesday, community members gathered at the United Church of Johnson to reflect on this more than-year-long period and learn more about what resources are available to them.Some even viewed it as a celebratory event, with signs out front reading “We survived the flood.However, life-long Johnson residents like Kyley Hill view it differently.”We haven’t made it,” said Hill.Hill lives on the same street as her parents.She said during the 2023 floods, the entire street saw high water levels.It damaged her home.“Every time it rains, the stress level is through the roof,” said Hill.As flooding has only become more frequent lately, with storms as recent as last month, Hill has turned to the Lamoille County Planning Commission to help her with the process of buying out her home.Deputy Director Seth Jensen and …
