NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) -People in Inglewood, who are constantly facing flooding issues, said these next few days of rain, caused by the remnants of Hurricane Helene, could mean trouble for them.
One homeowner explained what she was doing around her home to prepare for possible flooding.
“It’s just one more thing that backs stuff up,” Chris Svitek said.
Svitek said she spent her Friday morning, shoveling debris out of her backyard drainage ditch in between work meetings.
“I had to stop my workday, go outside in a pretty steady rain, all my clothes were soaked, my hair was soaked, and lift debris out of the ditch. It was very frustrating,” Svitek said.
Svitek said every time it rains in her Inglewood neighborhood, water drains from other streets, overflows this ditch and floods her backyard.
“To have water that I don’t have control over threatening me is really unnerving,” Svitek said.
