In position to steal Michigan NASCAR win, Keselowski sputters in double OT [Video]

BROOKLYN, MI – Two Michigan drivers finished in the top 10 in Monday’s NASCAR Cup race at Michigan International Speedway.

The 10th-place driver left smiling. The fifth-place driver left shaking his head.

That’s because Rochester Hills driver Brad Keselowski came oh so close – again – to winning at his home track. He started in the second row on the double-overtime restart, but mysteriously lost momentum at the green flag, dropping to fifth.

When asked if his car sputtered on the start, Keselowski said: “Yeah, we got some stuff we’ve got to work on.”

That also had consequences for William Byron, who was the leader and directly in front of Keselowski on the restart with two laps to go. Without Keselowski’s drafting help, Byron lost the lead to Tyler Reddick – who went on to win the race.
