BUFFALO, N.Y. — This week, hope is hard at work in the Ellicott district.

John Kingcade is getting a new bathroom and a new kitchen. The cost of such a big project? Not a single penny.
“We are doing free home repairs for 100 families. So, we’re doing anything from roofing projects, exterior paint projects, porch repairs, flooring, landscaping, so many things in between. We’re even doing a community project at JFK Park” said Kim Lackey, director of Eight Days of Hope, Buffalo.
Eight Days of Hope, a faith based non-profit, is in its fifth year of providing families in the Buffalo area with free home repairs.
