DC Fire and EMS had to close more roads near the NATO summit which had already been a traffic nightmare for many.
WASHINGTON — A row-house fire has closed additional roads not far from the NATO summit Wednesday which was already causing headaches for commuters.
On Wednesday, crews were called to the 1500 block of 9th Street for smoke showing from two three-story row homes in Northwest. When crews arrived they found several floors in the homes engulfed in flames. Twenty units and 100 personnel have been working to extinguish the fire since around 4:30 p.m.
Both homes were vacant and no injuries have been reported at this time. Once the fire is completely extinguish an investigation into what caused the fire will begin.
DC Fire and EMS closed the following roads due the fires:
- 9th Street, NW between O Street and Rhode Island Ave, NW.
- P Street between 8th and 10th Street, NW
- Eastbound traffic at 11th …
