Greensboro prepares for PTI airport growth [Video]

The city council asked the state to help fund a new fire station and make infrastructure upgrades.

Piedmont Triad International Airport’s growth continues to take off. With work going on for Boom Supersonics‘ 400,000-square-foot facility to build high-speed jets.

And Honda Jet committing to build corporate jets on the site.

That’s more than 2,000 jobs by 2030 and more people moving to the area.

The open land near PTI could in the next few years be a premiere spot for housing developments.

Realtor Wrenchel Stokes said housing near PTI went from being a hard sale to lots of interest.

“As the jobs grew so did the concern for housing and all those stimulants about air traffic and planes flying all went away,” Stokes said. “The jobs definitely grow the market.”

Greensboro City Council voted on two resolutions asking state lawmakers for money when their session starts in April.
