As part of a global mass layoff, GM informed 60-year-old Adam Bernard that he was no longer employed. After the brutal laying off of the GM worker, he had little else to do than turn to social media to lament his fresh unemployment. At such a late stage in life, there are few other options.
Bernard posted a message to LinkedIn, the home of the unemployed. “Well, in unexpected news, I was let go from GM at 5:07 a.m. this morning via email, along with (I hear unofficially) about 1,000 people globally. I wonder what I should do next…?” However, his post was noticed, and the injustice of GM letting a loyal employee go so brutally didn’t go down easy.
