ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Widespread wet weather has prompted a First Alert Weather Day today. Rain will slow down the evening commute and could impact some evening plans.
School Pickup: Widespread drizzle and scattered rain showers will be moving across north Georgia during the afternoon pick-up or bus ride home. Plan on damp conditions.
Evening Commute: Wet roads are slowing driving conditions. Plan on it moving slower than normal. However, rain won’t be particularly heavy.
Friday Night Plans: Rain gradually ends from northwest to southeast through the evening hours. Steady rain will be winding down in the heart of the metro by 7 p.m. Steady rain ends earlier across the northwest metro and by 9 p.m. well southeast of Atlanta. Spotty rain comes to a complete end by midnight.
While everyone is going to see damp conditions, rainfall totals will generally average less than one-half inch. Rain will only be briefly heavy in a few spots. …
