CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A construction worker was hospitalized, and four people have been displaced from their home after a fire and small explosion in the city’s Ravenswood neighborhood.
The Chicago Fire Department said it happened Saturday morning as work was being done in the basement of a home located on West Winona Street near North Ashland Avenue.
One man was taken to Stroger Hospital with critical injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
The Chicago Fire Department is investigating.
