“Thank you all for being a part of this chapter in my family’s ever-growing storybook,” the owner wrote in a newsletter.

DES MOINES, Iowa — An urban farm located in Des Moines will close at the end of September.

Dogpatch Urban Gardens, which specializes in growing fresh, local food, announced on Facebook it will host its last event on Sept. 29.

“I have been blessed along this journey of owning a small business,” Dogpatch Urban Gardens owner Jenny Quiner wrote in a newsletter. “I have connected with so many amazing people within our Des Moines community and beyond.  I’ve had an outstanding crew throughout the years and I love all they have done to help grow our business. Thank you all for being a part of this chapter in my family’s ever-growing storybook.”

The farm was founded in 2017. Since then, Dogpatch has grown significantly, expanding its mission to sell goods in grocery stores, host farm-to-table dinners and rent out its own Airbnb.
