Crews in Livingston Parish work to clear roads, restore power after Francine hits Louisiana [Video]

LIVINGSTON, La. (BRPROUD) — The Livingston Parish Homeland Security Emergency Preparedness Center has been monitoring roadways and powerlines with the latest technology to keep residents safe since Francine moved through Louisiana.

Livingston Parish officials told BRProud the storm’s severity could have been a lot worse but are thankful it wasn’t.

Livingston Parish Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Director Chris Anderson said new GPS technology installed on tractors, excavators, trucks and equipment lets them see from the EOC center.

Parish resident Brian Lawless woke up after the storm and saw his home surrounded by water.

“This is like the first time since I lived here that it looked like this,” Lawless said.
