Eleven Cork start-up founders have completed Enterprise Ireland’s New Frontiers programme in MTU’s Rubicon centre, with Elvis Seporaitis of Volta Robotics receiving the award for Best Business Opportunity.

The college said nine of the startups have already launched their products on the market, with customers in Ireland and abroad.

New Frontiers is a six-month, full-time acceleration programme that provides €15,000 seed funding for participants, individual professional mentoring, expert-led workshops, access to MTU’s research expertise, and free office space.

Programme manager Aoife McInerney commented: “It has been very rewarding to watch these founders develop their products and engage with the vibrant start-up community that exists in the region.

“We look forward to seeing them continue to grow in the coming months and years”.

Applications for MTU’s next New Frontiers programme are currently open, with a deadline of 7 June 2024.
