Construction continues at the University of Scranton [Video]

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — New developments took place at the University of Scranton as construction continued on the new Robert S. and Marilyn A. Weiss Hall.

A steel beam signed by the university president and representatives from key departments was lifted to the top of the structure.

The 90,000-square-foot, four-story facility, will include an innovation hub, laboratories, and classrooms for the majors like criminal justice.

It will also host the small business development center and student health services.

“Everything we do here in Scranton is for our students and for our mission so this is really an investment in the future of both of those things, weiss hall will stand as a locust for workforce development, applied research, and community outreach,” stated Fr. Joseph G. Marina S.J. President the University of Scranton.

The new building is expected to be done by the summer of 2025 and will be used for the 2025 fall semester.
