NORTHERN KENTUCKY (WXIX) – A class action lawsuit has been filed against a Northern Kentucky sanitation company alleging negligence on their behalf caused a landslide under several homes.

A July 26 letter from Wood + Lamping law firm said the “hillside slippage” forcing Woodland Hill Condominiums owners to relocate could have been caused by Sanitation District No. 1 of Northern Kentucky (SD1) crews who were excavating near the condos during a project and possibly caused a shifting in the hillside resulting in an active landslide.

Residents were urged to evacuate last week and on Monday, SD1 and HOA said they would be helping them find temporary housing.

Lera Khubunaia is staying with friends as she and about 35 neighbors work to clear out their beloved Woodland Hills homes.

“Being there was very unsettling,” said Khubunaia. “Even though there are no cracks, like big ones, it feels unsafe, and it feels strange.”
