Colorado competing for massive federal funding grant [Video]

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The Elevate Quantum Tech Hub and Colorado are competing with other states for a federal grant to develop a quantum technology ecosystem. The grant is for $70 million and would establish Colorado as a center for quantum computing around the world.

Executive Director of the Office of Economic Development and International Trade Eve Lieberman says Colorado is extremely competitive in receiving this grant.

“Overall, we are incredibly competitive in this space because we have thirty startup companies, we have the most amount of jobs and the most amount of innovation.”

Lieberman also told WesternSlopeNow that schools such as Fort Lewis College, University of Colorado Boulder and Colorado State University are part of a consortium that will train students for jobs in quantum.
