CLEARWATER, Fla. — Clearwater police helped conduct a “purr-fect” rescue Thursday morning.
A communications worker at the police department set off for work at 5 a.m. from her home in Hillsborough County. But during her ride, she reportedly heard the faint cry of a cat from underneath the car’s hood.
Police said she then pulled over and tried looking for the cat but couldn’t see or hear anything, so she continued driving. Once she was on the highway, she reportedly started hearing the cat again.
“Concerned about the cat’s welfare, she called her mom, who assured her if she could hear the cat, it likely would be OK until she got to Clearwater,” police said in a statement. “For the entire drive, she and the cat were both crying.”
