City of Bowie to introduce four day week [Video]

BOWIE, Texas (KAUZ) – The City of Bowie is moving to a four-day work week, officially starting next week.

Friday, March 1 kicks off the first three-day weekend.

While the idea is sure to boost morale and city leaders stress for now it is a trial run that will be re-visited in 6 months.

After a year of research, the voice of city employees was finally heard.

Pamela Woods, the Finance HR Director for the City of Bowie, put in the time and it paid off in a big way after residents and employees came to her last year.

“The employees came to me and talked to me about it. after the school went to four days. we did lose an employee because of daycare. and so I listened to them and I thought you know what this might work for them. so listened a little bit longer and they came to me a little bit more and finally …
