Chillicothe’s Yoctangee Park — Governor Mike DeWine highlighted a $154 million state investment in Appalachian Ohio in front of Chillicothe’s historic Memorial Armory in Yoctangee Park, which itself will be part of $45 million for Ross County, including $35 million for Chillicothe.
The May 1st event was the result of months of planning and budgeting for Ross County Planner Devon Shoemaker. He had told me for a while that he was working hard with agencies in Appalachian Ohio – about 16 counties, 32 towns, and several universities, a “huge mix of partners” – to hash out a reasonable wishlist with price tags.
