Businesses hung bows, painted their storefronts and performed landscaping to properly send a farewell to the 39th President.
PLAINS, Ga. — Hours after the announcement that our longest living president died, his hometown was bustling with visitors looking to honor him. Businesses were also gearing up to give former president Jimmy Carter a proper farewell.
Former United States President Jimmy Carter will be laid to rest in his home town of Plains, Georgia. The city is expecting hundreds of visitors to stop by the Jimmy Carter National Historic Park, which includes the Old Plains High School and his family farm.
To keep the city looking nice for guests, landscapers with Solomon’s Landscaping and Maintenance Services worked around the square in Plains.
“We come in, trim hedges and lay pin straw and trim trees back,” owner Jason Solomon said.
